Editorial Charter
Open Chronicle
Open Chronicle is a digital publication, continuously updated and accessible online, created for readers who value independent journalism, clear context, and thoughtful storytelling in a global digital space.
We are a plural, independent, and editorially free platform. Accuracy, fairness, and responsibility guide everything we publish. We respect individual privacy and avoid reporting on personal or family matters unless there is a clear and legitimate public interest. Open Chronicle does not publish political advertising and does not allow external pressure to influence editorial decisions, in line with applicable laws and journalistic ethics.
We clearly separate news from opinion. Our reporting is based on verified facts and careful sourcing, while opinion pieces are always identified as such. From time to time, Open Chronicle may publish editorials that express a collective perspective, always transparently and within the legal framework.
We believe journalism works best as an open conversation. Open Chronicle encourages reader interaction and community participation in a free, respectful, and responsible way. To protect constructive dialogue and fundamental rights, we reserve the right to moderate or remove contributions that conflict with our editorial values or legal obligations.
Open Chronicle also includes an Encyclopedia component, designed as a living knowledge base that provides context, background, and explanatory content to support our journalistic work. This Encyclopedia is developed as an open and collaborative resource and is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0 International license. This allows reuse, adaptation, and redistribution of content, provided proper attribution is given, and derivative works are shared under the same terms.
The platform may feature content from independent partners and external projects. These contributions are published without editorial intervention and remain the responsibility of their authors. For transparency and trust, all third-party or brand-supported content is clearly labeled.
Open Chronicle is a non-profit organization. All Open Chronicle editorial content is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution ShareAlike 4.0 International license, reinforcing our commitment to open knowledge, collaboration, and public access to reliable information.
As journalism evolves, Open Chronicle may use artificial intelligence tools to support research, production, and distribution, always with human supervision. These technologies are used responsibly, transparently, and critically, with accuracy, independence, and fairness at the core.
Open Chronicle is committed to fighting misinformation and views technology, including artificial intelligence, as a tool to strengthen quality journalism, shared knowledge, and public trust.
