In Shadow Front, surveillance is the method through which the Russian security apparatus turns uncertainty into control. It transforms streets, signals, movements and relationships into traceable patterns.
Surveillance is not limited to cameras or intercepted communications. It includes informants, digital trails, border records, financial traces, vehicle routes, social pressure and long-term observation of behavior.
Its purpose is not only to see. Its purpose is to make others feel seen, reducing freedom before any direct action is taken.
Narrative Role
Surveillance gives Shadow Front its atmosphere of pressure. It creates the feeling that every movement may be recorded, every contact may be compromised and every silence may carry meaning.
