WEBSITE SECURITY CHECKER

OPEN CHRONICLE CYBERSECURITY LAB | MODULE 03

WEBSITE SECURITY CHECKER

Understand URLs, review HTTP security headers and learn what browser security controls actually protect.

LOCAL-ONLY ANALYSISNO LIVE SCANNINGDEFENSIVE EDUCATION
What this tool does: It evaluates text you enter or paste into your browser. It does not connect to websites, inspect live TLS certificates, discover vulnerabilities or prove that a site is secure. Use only public or synthetic information, and do not paste cookies, authorization tokens or confidential headers.

01 | URL Inspector

Check a sample URL for common warning signs. This is a syntax and risk-indicator review, not a reputation lookup.

02 | HTTP Header Review

Paste a sanitized HTTP response-header block. The tool checks for selected protective headers and common configuration signals.

03 | Understanding the Results

HTTPS and TLS

HTTPS indicates that a connection is intended to use TLS encryption. A URL alone cannot confirm a valid certificate, modern TLS configuration or a trustworthy operator.

Security headers

Headers such as HSTS, Content Security Policy, X-Content-Type-Options and Referrer-Policy can reduce certain browser risks when configured correctly.

Not a vulnerability scan

A missing header is not proof of exploitation. A present header is not proof of effective protection. Real assessments require authorized testing and context.

Safe handling

Never paste session cookies, API keys, bearer tokens, private URLs or sensitive infrastructure details. Example data is safest.

Security Checklist

Use this checklist when reviewing a site you administer.

Checklist state is not stored by this module.
