Series Description

Set against the vast skies of World War I, Wings of Iron explores the birth of aerial warfare through the eyes of pilots, mechanics and observers caught in a conflict that is transforming the heavens into a battlefield.

From fragile reconnaissance aircraft to deadly dogfights, the series follows the men and women who witnessed the first age of combat aviation.

Before radar. Before jets. Before modern air forces.

There were only machines of wood and canvas, and the courage of those who flew them.

The season closes with sacrifice, memory and the sky forever changed by war. As the final mission begins, pilots face one last encounter above the front and discover that victory can carry the weight of everything lost.

To those who flew into the unknown, and to every name carried by the sky after the guns fell silent.
