KYIV, Ukraine — Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense announced this week that approximately 800,000 active-duty soldiers have successfully logged into Army+, a rapidly growing mobile application developed to streamline and modernize military administration across the country’s armed forces.

The news was shared via the Ministry’s official Telegram channel, emphasizing the app’s popularity and usefulness. The app now plays a key role in digitally managing the lives and movements of Ukraine’s service members amid the ongoing war with Russia.

“Thousands of users log in to the Army+ application every day,” the Ministry stated. “The total number of soldiers authorized in it is already about 800,000.”

Digital Transformation on the Frontline

Army+ is designed as an all-in-one mobile platform for Ukrainian soldiers, offering access to personnel records, service change requests, and key military documentation. In just six months, more than 100,000 digital reports, including requests for service reassignments and transfers, have been submitted via the app.

According to official data, 32,000 soldiers have already joined new units or are awaiting transfer orders processed through the app.

Enhancements to Access and Functionality

Despite the success, the Ministry acknowledged that some soldiers still face technical issues logging in, prompting the release of step-by-step instructions to assist users in accessing the system.

To address evolving needs, the app has also added new functions:

  • Electronic reports for easier internal communication

  • A certificates section to help streamline benefits and rights

  • The ability to apply for childcare leave

  • A portal to request the UBD (Combatant Status) certificate

These features aim to reduce bureaucratic delays and improve access to essential services—an increasingly important mission in a country whose defense infrastructure is stretched by war.

A Model for Military Tech Innovation?

Ukraine’s embrace of digital tools like Army+ has been hailed as part of a broader strategy to digitally transform government services. It complements other state-led initiatives such as Diia, a civilian mobile application used for digital IDs and public services.

The Ministry’s rapid integration of digital infrastructure reflects the pressures of managing a wartime army with agility, accountability, and efficiency.

As the conflict continues into its third year, digital adaptability has become a key pillar of Ukraine’s defense strategy, making platforms like Army+ not only useful tools but vital components of the country’s resilience.
