Anchorage, Alaska – The US Secret Service has rented a six-bedroom house in Anchorage ahead of a potential meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Friday, August 15, according to a report by The New York Times.

While the White House has not officially confirmed the location of the meeting, local realtor Larry Disbrow, who manages short-term rentals in the city and also serves as Germany’s honorary consul, disclosed that the rental was made specifically for the Secret Service.

“The US Secret Service contacted me today and asked if I had any vacancies, and I replied that I had the premises they needed,” Disbrow said. “I understand why Alaska might be an attractive place for something like this from a historical perspective. But it certainly surprised me.”

Anchorage Mayor Suzanne LaFrance told reporters she had received no formal confirmation about the meeting but acknowledged that her city has a longstanding history of hosting high-profile diplomatic encounters.

“Hosting leaders is not unusual for us here in Alaska. Serving as a place for diplomacy is part of our history, as we are that crossroads of the world,” LaFrance said.

The potential Trump-Putin meeting in Anchorage, if confirmed, would mark a rare high-level diplomatic exchange on American soil between Washington and Moscow, in a location steeped in Cold War and geopolitical significance.
