The Sudanese Armed Forces announced Saturday that it had regained control of a strategic area near the border with Ethiopia following intense clashes with the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and allied fighters.
According to the army, Sudanese troops recaptured the Al Kayli area near the city of Al-Kurmuk in the southeastern Blue Nile region after inflicting what it described as heavy losses on RSF fighters and members of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North.
