Iran has accused Ukraine of attacking an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea that allegedly killed one sailor and wounded another, describing the incident as an “act of aggression” and warning that Tehran will take all necessary measures to defend its national interests.

Tehran condemns alleged attack
In a statement released on Saturday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said the incident occurred during the early hours of the day when an explosion struck an Iranian commercial vessel operating in the Caspian Sea.
According to the ministry, one sailor was killed while another sustained injuries.
Iran condemned the alleged strike as a violation of international law, arguing that it breached Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity or political independence of states.
