TEL AVIV / TEHRAN — Senior officials within the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed Tuesday that the military is preparing for at least another month of high-intensity operations against Iran. The assessment aligns with a shift in the campaign’s focus from achieving air superiority to the systematic dismantling of Iran’s industrial and technological military base.

According to a senior General Staff officer, the campaign has successfully crippled the majority of Iran’s mobile launch platforms. “Iran entered this conflict with approximately 460 missile launchers; through sustained strikes, that number has been reduced to roughly 150,” the official stated.

The Month-Long Horizon

While President Donald Trump suggested Monday that the war is “very complete” and could end “very soon,” the IDF is taking a more cautious, long-term approach.

  • Persistence over Speed: IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir described the conflict as the “war of our generation,” emphasizing that Israel “must not take its foot off the gas” until the regime’s military threat is eradicated.

  • Tunnels and Blockages: Israeli commanders noted that the current phase involves striking underground launch facilities and tunnels to prevent the IRGC from “clearing the blockages” created by earlier bombardments.

U.S.–Israeli “Division of Labor”

Defense sources have revealed a highly coordinated “division of labor” between Washington and Jerusalem:

  • Israel’s Sector: Primary focus on northern and central Iran, including leadership compounds in Tehran and missile manufacturing hubs in Isfahan and Shiraz.

  • U.S. Sector: Concentrating on the southern coastline, maritime reconnaissance, and heavy infrastructure along the Persian Gulf.

  • “Unlimited Munitions”: Israeli officials noted that as the U.S. role expands in the coming weeks, the scale of destruction will likely increase, as American forces are operating without the “munitions economy” constraints typical of smaller-scale engagements.

IRGC Defiance: “The Gates of Hell”

In Tehran, IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini dismissed Israeli claims of success as “big lies.” Naini asserted that Iran’s missile force remains potent, with “warheads exceeding one ton” currently being prepared for launch.

In a direct threat to global energy markets, Naini warned Tuesday that Iran will not allow “a single liter of oil” to be exported from the region to “hostile sides” as long as the war continues. He claimed that U.S. carrier groups, including the USS Gerald R. Ford, have “fled a thousand kilometers” for fear of Iranian retaliation—a claim the Pentagon has dismissed as propaganda.

The Opportunity for Collapse

Despite the military gains, Israeli security officials acknowledged that “military moves alone” may not suffice. The IDF is betting that the systematic destruction of the Revolutionary Guard’s power pillars will eventually embolden the Iranian public to finalize the regime change that began with the February 28 strikes. “If we stop now, they will rebuild,” one official warned. “This is an opportunity we will not get again.”
