Shreveport, Louisiana — A mass shooting that unfolded across multiple locations in Shreveport has left at least eight children dead and two others injured, in what local officials are describing as one of the most devastating incidents in the city’s history.
Authorities said the victims ranged in age from just one year old to 14, underscoring the scale of the tragedy that has shaken the community.
Multiple Crime Scenes
According to the Shreveport Police Department, officers responded to a domestic disturbance call shortly after 6:00 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered victims spread across four separate locations, indicating a coordinated sequence of violence rather than a single isolated act.
Police spokesperson Christopher Bordelon confirmed that investigators believe the suspect acted alone and was the sole individual responsible for the shootings.
Suspect Killed After Attempted Escape
Following the attacks, the suspect attempted to flee the scene by carjacking a vehicle and driving toward the nearby city of Bossier City.
Law enforcement units pursued the vehicle across jurisdictional lines. The chase ended when officers confronted the suspect, who was shot dead after police opened fire. Authorities said three officers discharged their weapons during the encounter.

The scale of the violence has left officials and residents struggling to process the events. Tom Arceneaux described the incident as “maybe the worst tragic situation we’ve ever had,” calling it “a terrible morning” for the city.
