At least five people were injured in a stabbing incident at Henry Foss High School on Thursday, prompting a swift police response and raising concerns about safety in schools.
Authorities in Tacoma said the incident involved four students and a campus security officer, all of whom sustained stab or cut wounds during what was initially reported as an altercation on school grounds.

A juvenile suspect, identified as a student at the school, was detained at the scene without further incident, according to the Tacoma Police Department. Officials confirmed that the suspect has been charged with five counts of first-degree assault.
Emergency services transported the injured to nearby medical facilities. Officials later reported that all victims, as well as the suspect, were in stable condition.
Police spokesperson Shelbie Boyd said investigators are still working to determine the circumstances that led to the attack. Details regarding a possible motive or whether the individuals involved were known to each other have not yet been disclosed.
The incident has left the local community shaken, as authorities continue to examine how the situation escalated within the school environment. Additional security measures and support services are expected to be implemented as the investigation unfolds.
School officials have not yet announced when normal activities will fully resume, as law enforcement continues to gather evidence and interview witnesses.
