Paris Saint-Germain will face Arsenal in the 2025–2026 UEFA Champions League final after overcoming FC Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate in a dramatic semi-final clash.
The defending European champions entered the second leg in Munich with a narrow 5-4 advantage from a thrilling first encounter in Paris and managed to hold on despite heavy pressure at the Allianz Arena.
The French side struck early on Wednesday night when Ousmane Dembele found the net in just the third minute after impressive work from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The goal extended PSG’s aggregate lead to 6-4 and immediately shifted the pressure onto Bayern.
The German champions dominated possession for long stretches and pushed forward relentlessly in search of a comeback. Harry Kane eventually scored late in the match to make it 1-1 on the night, but the goal proved to be only a consolation as time ran out for the hosts.
Despite Bayern’s attacking efforts, PSG delivered one of its most disciplined defensive performances of the season. Central defender Willian Pacho emerged as one of the standout performers, producing a composed display against Kane and helping neutralize Bayern’s attacking threats for most of the contest.
Kvaratskhelia also received widespread praise for his creativity and relentless movement throughout the match, while PSG’s goalkeeper and back line held firm under intense pressure.
Bayern believed they should have been awarded a first-half penalty after a suspected handball involving Joao Neves, but no spot kick was given.
The result sends PSG into another Champions League final under manager Luis Enrique, with the French giants now aiming to secure consecutive European titles.
For Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta, the Budapest final represents a chance to win Europe’s biggest club trophy against arguably the continent’s most complete side this season.
