Callista Gingrich was officially accredited as the United States Ambassador to Liechtenstein on November 10, 2025, in a ceremony at Vaduz Castle. Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein welcomed Gingrich and presented her with her credentials, marking the formal start of her tenure in the principality.
Before presenting her credentials, Gingrich paid a courtesy visit to Liechtenstein’s Foreign Minister, Sabine Monauni, at the Government Building in Vaduz. This diplomatic meeting was followed by a discussion with Prime Minister Brigitte Haas, who expressed her hopes for continued strong ties between the United States and Liechtenstein under Gingrich’s leadership.
Gingrich, a seasoned diplomat, had already been accredited by Swiss Federal President Karin Keller-Sutter at the end of October 2025, before her appointment to Liechtenstein. Notably, Gingrich served as the US Ambassador to the Vatican from 2017 to 2021, bringing a wealth of diplomatic experience to her new role.
The accreditation ceremony symbolizes the ongoing strengthening of US-Liechtenstein relations, which are expected to grow under the diplomatic oversight of Gingrich.
