BEIRUT
German President Frank Walter Steinmeier begins a three-day visit to Lebanon aimed at supporting the country’s efforts toward stability and economic growth. He is scheduled to meet President Joseph Aoun, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. The visit marks Steinmeier’s second trip to Lebanon, following his 2018 visit.

GAZA CITY / WEST BANK
Coverage will focus on reported Israeli ceasefire violations in Gaza and increasing attacks by Israeli forces and Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property across the occupied West Bank, amid rising humanitarian and security concerns.

BRATISLAVA / BUDAPEST
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Slovakia for talks with President Peter Pellegrini and Prime Minister Robert Fico in Bratislava. Rubio and Fico are expected to hold a joint news conference before he travels to Budapest, Hungary.

MUNICH
The third and final day of the 62nd Munich Security Conference will center on European security, transatlantic relations, and Ukraine. Speakers are expected to include EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics, Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal, and Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic. Dozens of heads of state and government, along with foreign and defense ministers, are attending the high-level gathering.

MUNICH
Developments in diplomatic efforts to end the Russia-Ukraine war will be closely followed, particularly contacts held on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.

ADDIS ABABA
African leaders will conclude the 39th Ordinary Session of the African Union Assembly following two days of discussions on regional security and the 2026 water sustainability mandate. The summit will end with a closing ceremony and a final communique outlining the bloc’s resolutions, followed by a joint press conference at African Union headquarters.

DHAKA
Coverage will continue as the Bangladesh Nationalist Party moves to form a new government after winning elections, the first since the 2024 overthrow of the Awami League’s 15 year rule. BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to be sworn in as prime minister by Feb. 18 after securing a two-thirds parliamentary majority.
