MARANELLO, Italy — Exactly one year after the debut of the Roma-replacing coupe, Ferrari has officially unveiled the Amalfi Spider. The 2+2 convertible, named after Italy’s most iconic coastline, blends high-fashion aesthetics with a significant mechanical punch, ensuring the “entry-level” Prancing Horse remains a formidable predator in the grand touring segment.
The reveal, which took place early Thursday, March 12, 2026, showcases a car that preserves the elegant silhouette of its hardtop sibling while offering a visceral, open-air experience powered by one of the world’s most awarded engines.

The Heart of the Beast
Under the long, “sculpted” bonnet sits the latest evolution of Ferrari’s 3.9-liter twin-turbo V8.
-
Performance: The engine now produces 631 hp (640 cv), a 19 hp increase over the outgoing Roma Spider, and 760 Nm (561 lb-ft) of torque.
-
Speed: Despite the extra weight of the roof mechanism, the Amalfi Spider matches the coupe’s 0–62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in just 3.3 seconds, with a blistering top speed of 199 mph (320 km/h).
-
Precision Engineering: The V8 features lighter camshafts and a redesigned engine block to shave weight, while a new turbocharging management system allows the turbines to spin at up to 171,000 rpm for near-instant throttle response.

Design and the “Z-Fold” Roof
Ferrari’s Styling Centre, led by Flavio Manzoni, prioritized maintaining the car’s proportions even when the roof is stowed.
-
The Mechanism: The five-layer fabric roof uses a “Z-fold” kinematic system, retracting in just 13.5 seconds at speeds of up to 37 mph.
-
Packaging: When folded, the roof is a mere 220mm (8.6 inches) thick, allowing for a luggage capacity of 172 liters (roof down) and 255 liters (roof up).
-
Innovations: The five-layer fabric is designed to match the acoustic and thermal insulation of a retractable hard-top. A new Rosso Tramonto (Sunset Red) paint color debuts alongside the Verde Costiera (Coastal Green), carried over from the coupe.
Interior: The Return of the Physical Button
Correcting a common criticism of the Roma, the Amalfi Spider’s cockpit marks a return to tactile controls.
-
Steering Wheel: The touch-sensitive haptic panels are gone, replaced by physical buttons and the iconic red engine start button.
-
Displays: The dashboard features a 15.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, and an optional 8.8-inch display for the passenger to monitor G-forces and revs.
-
Refined Cockpit: The center console has been lowered to create a more spacious, “cocooned” feel for long-distance touring.
