Genesis has taken another significant step toward launching its first dedicated high-performance sports car, unveiling an updated version of the Magma GT Concept alongside a new GT3 racing variant during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans weekend.
The two concepts offer the clearest indication yet of Genesis’ ambitions in both road-going performance vehicles and international motorsport, building on the momentum generated by the brand’s GMR-001 Hypercar program.

A Closer Look at the Future Magma GT
First introduced in late 2025, the Magma GT Concept was presented as a preview of Genesis’ first pure sports car. The latest version remains faithful to the original design but introduces several refinements that suggest the project is moving closer to production reality.
One of the most noticeable changes is a new metallic green exterior finish, replacing the vibrant Magma Orange showcased on the original concept. The updated color is paired with distinctive copper-colored alloy wheels, creating a more sophisticated appearance while emphasizing the car’s sculpted bodywork.
Additional exterior revisions include redesigned side windows, updated mirrors and door handles, revised side air intakes, and slimmer LED rear lighting elements that contribute to a cleaner and more mature design.
Motorsport-Inspired Interior
For the first time, Genesis has revealed a fully developed interior for the Magma GT.
The two-seat cockpit combines luxury materials with racing-inspired functionality. An analog instrument cluster takes inspiration from traditional motorsport dashboards, while three circular gauges dominate the center console.
Physical climate controls remain integrated into a compact display, preserving a driver-focused layout. Large paddle shifters, rotary steering wheel controls, and an aluminum gear selector reinforce the performance-oriented character of the vehicle.
The cabin is finished with extensive use of quilted leather and Alcantara, complemented by orange ambient lighting that reflects the Magma performance identity.
Magma GT3 Signals Racing Ambitions
Alongside the road-focused concept, Genesis unveiled the Magma GT3 Concept, a track-only machine developed to GT3 racing regulations.
The concept highlights Genesis’ intention to strengthen the connection between its future production vehicles and motorsport activities beyond its existing World Endurance Championship Hypercar program.
Compared with the road car, the GT3 version features a far more aggressive aerodynamic package, including a larger front splitter, aerodynamic canards, ventilated fenders, an enlarged rear diffuser, and a massive rear wing designed to maximize downforce.
The race car also receives lightweight Lexan windows, competition mirrors, dedicated racing wheels fitted with slick tires, a lowered suspension setup, and a wider track for improved handling and stability.
Shared V8 Powertrain
Genesis is expected to equip both concepts with the same 3.2-liter V8 engine currently used in its GMR-001 Hypercar project.
While technical specifications have not yet been fully disclosed, the use of the endurance racing powertrain underscores the company’s commitment to developing a genuine high-performance flagship rather than a conventional luxury sports coupe.
A New Chapter for Genesis
The Magma GT and Magma GT3 concepts represent more than just design exercises. They showcase Genesis’ growing ambitions in the performance sector and demonstrate how the brand intends to merge luxury, advanced technology, and motorsport engineering.
With a production version appearing increasingly close to reality, the Magma GT could become one of the most significant vehicles in Genesis’ history, marking its entry into a segment traditionally dominated by established European supercar manufacturers.
As Genesis continues expanding its motorsport presence and refining its performance identity, the Magma project may prove to be the foundation of a new era for the Korean luxury brand.
