The situation before the final stage
The sporting picture is now clear before the Volta reaches Porto.
Guérin has 1:02 over Nych, while the next rider, Pedro Silva, is already 4:30 behind the Yellow Jersey.
Anicolor Campicarn consequently has an exceptional opportunity to finish the race first and second overall while also winning the team classification.
Rui Oliveira has another objective.
The Portuguese rider will attempt to defend the Orange Jersey on the final stage, which could offer opportunities for the sprinters.
Pericas, meanwhile, has a substantial advantage in the youth competition despite the setback suffered on Stage 9.
The final classifications will be decided on Stage 10, Maia to Porto, on 16 August.
The official Volta a Portugal Race Center remains the reference for complete classifications, intermediate competitions and any subsequent official adjustments.
