JERUSALEM — The Middle East has spiraled into a high-stakes war of attrition as Operation Epic Fury enters its fourth day. Iran launched a massive stream of missile attacks Tuesday morning, targeting Israel and U.S.-allied nations in a direct retaliation for the devastating strikes that dismantled much of Tehran’s military infrastructure earlier this week.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that air defense systems were activated across the country as rocket trails streaked over cities like Hebron in the West Bank. Sirens and emergency mobile alerts sent millions of civilians scrambling into protected spaces.
“Our defense systems are working to intercept the incoming threats,” the IDF stated in a social media briefing, urging the public to remain in shelters until explicit directives are given.

“Too Late for Talks”
The escalation follows a weekend of unprecedented violence. On March 3, joint U.S. and Israeli strikes pummeled targets throughout the Iranian capital. President Donald Trump, maintaining a posture of “ferocious resolve,” warned Tehran that the window for diplomacy has slammed shut.
“It is too late for Iran to seek talks to escape a war now,” the President declared, signaling that the U.S. objective has shifted from containment to a total degradation of the Iranian regime’s reach.
A Region on Fire
The conflict is no longer confined to Iranian soil. As the Islamic Republic retaliates, the following fronts have ignited:
-
The Gulf: Drones and missiles have reportedly struck oil facilities and U.S. diplomatic missions.
-
Lebanon: Israel has pushed ground troops deeper into Lebanese territory to engage Hezbollah, the Tehran-backed militia that entered the fray following the initial U.S. strikes.
-
Interceptor Reserves: Military analysts are sounding the alarm over “interceptor fatigue.” While Allied defenses have been highly effective, the “steady stream” of Iranian launches is designed to deplete the stock of expensive defensive missiles.
Americans Urged to Evacuate
The U.S. State Department has heightened its emergency posture, warning Americans that the window for safe departure from the region is rapidly closing. The alarm follows threats of further strikes against Western assets in the region.
As the smoke clears over Tehran and the skies over Israel remain filled with interceptor fire, the world watches to see if “Epic Fury” will achieve a swift conclusion or if the “endless war” the administration sought to avoid has finally arrived.
